What are dangerous goods?

Items in the following categories can cause damage, loss, and harm. Please ensure that your item is safe to be delivered. Find out more.

Explosives

Substances that can explode under defined conditions of dryness, flame, or heat

Flammable / Toxic Gases

Combustable gases in the presence of air or without any energy application

Flammable Liquids

Liquids with flash points of no more than 60ºC

Flammable Solids

Substances susceptible to spontaneous combustion or will emit flammable gases when in contact with water

Oxidising

Substances that may cause explosion, fire, or damage to living tissue, resulting in chemical burns. Reacts with other substances to produce a highly exothermic reaction

Toxic / Very Toxic

May cause severe health risks or even death if ingested, including inhaling or delivery of substance into skin

Radioactives

Substances that emit radioactive waves

Corrosives

May cause burns or destruction of living tissue upon contact with skin

Miscellaneous

Substances which present a danger or hazard during transport that is not covered by the 8 categories of dangerous goods

What are prohibited items?

  • Weaponry, explosive devices, firearms, ammunition or their parts (Including imitation, fakes, or replicas)

  • Gold, jewellery, antiques, fine art, or high value watches

  • Loose lithium-ion batteries

  • Counterfeit or pirated goods (e.g. CD, DVD, Blu-ray discs)

  • Animals (Any form; dead or alive)

  • Currency notes, coins, bullions, credit cards or traveller’s cheques

  • Live plants

  • Human remains or cremated ashes

  • Official documents such as IDs, passports, or birth certificates

  • Goods which may endanger health, environment, and safety

  • Illegal drugs or narcotics

  • Obscene and/or pornographic materials
