One step ahead in sustainability

As a responsible last mile delivery and logistics player, Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters are high priority.

2019

Delivering a Greener Future

We want the future generations to enjoy the abundance of natural resources that our country is blessed with. In April 2019, 30 GDEXians participated in the planting of mangrove saplings in Taman Alam forest reserve, Kuala Selangor.

2021

Charging Towards a Cleaner Future

In November 2021, GDEX took delivery of a new fleet of all-electric motorcycles, marking a new chapter in sustainability.

These cleaner, quieter vehicles will:

  • Cover urban locations in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor
  • Serve as a study for usage of electric bicycles and tricycles for smaller areas like neighbourhoods

2022

Brighter Future With Renewable Energy

In April 2022, installation of a rooftop solar PV system at our headquarters in Petaling Jaya, Selangor was completed.

With this initiative, 15% of GDEX Headquarters’ monthly energy consumption is now powered by solar.

Packing for an Environmental-Friendly Future

Statistics estimate that the global e-commerce industry used about 2.1 billion pounds of plastic packaging in 2019. It’s projected to grow to an estimated 4.5 billion pounds by 2025.

What is sustainable packaging?2022-11-11T15:51:46+08:00
  • Protective material
  • Made from responsibly sourced materials
  • Made with recycled content
  • Recyclable
How did we improve our packaging?2022-12-14T18:25:11+08:00

By combining materials science and manufacturing partnerships, we are able to apply sustainable change across the packaging supply chain.

How did we reduce/eliminate packaging?2022-11-23T10:46:02+08:00

In 2022, we used technology to replace non-recyclable insulation in our newly-launched chilled and frozen delivery service. This has eliminated the annual use of tons of non-recyclable mixed plastic previously needed to deliver frozen groceries.

What are the materials used in our packaging?2022-12-14T18:25:42+08:00

Our carton boxes are made of one of the most recycled materials — corrugated cardboard. In 2018, 96% of corrugated products were recycled.
